Tuesday, June 12th: Rudi von Michalofski Memorial Tournament 

Tournament Information

  • Friday, June 22nd (Rain Date: Saturday, June 23rd)
  • Arrive at 6:30 for 7pm start 
  • Sign-up sheet is located in the clubhouse
    • Please sign up before Wednesday, June 20th 
  • $5 fee to cover the cost for pizzas afterwards 
  • 30 minute games and play the last point when you hear the whistle 
  • One point deuce games 


Friday, June 8th: Help Wanted at QTC

Tournament Coordinator (Paid Position)

Primary Duties

  • Organizing, promoting and administering tournaments at QTC 
  • Setting dates (in consultation with Tournament Director), communicating with both members and others involved 
  • Collecting registration and fees, organizing a social component and liaising with volunteers
Other Important Information
  • The Tournament Coordinator will not run a tournament. Rather, he or she will provide administrative support to the Tournament Director
  • Terms of remuneration may be based on revenue-sharing of tournament fees 
  • No regularly scheduled hours of work - time commitment will revolve around when tournaments are scheduled 
Volunteer Tournament Director (Social and Inter-Club)

Primary Duties
  • Selecting dates and tournament formats
  • Putting together draws and developing scoring system (if any)
  • Being at the Club to manage the tournament and settle disputes 
Other Important Information
  • Volunteer Tournament Director will have assistance from the Tournament Coordinator 
  • Excellent opportunity to get involved at the Club! 
Tournament Director for the Club Championships 
Primary Duties 
  • Selecting dates (preferably early or mid-September) and tournament formats 
  • Putting together draws and developing a scoring system 
  • Being at the Club to manage the tournament and settle disputes 
Other Important Information
  • Compensation will be negotiated
  • The Tournament Director will have logistics support from the Tournament Coordinator

Monday, June 4th: Join In the Kingston Tennis Club's Davis Cup-Style Tournament 

The Kingston Tennis Club has invited members of QTC to their Davis Cup-style tournament on Saturday, June 9th from 1-4pm to celebrate Tennis Month in Ontario. Players will sign up in advance and be put into teams of 4-6 people. Each team will be assigned a country, and will be encouraged to dress in their country’s colours. Teams will participate in matches and skills competitions (and maybe some trivia on the deck) and will be awarded points for these and other things like team spirit. The event will be free. Some light snacks will be provided and people can bring their own beverages to enjoy on the deck. If you would like to join in, contact Chloe Wilson at wilson.chloe@gmail.com
